God's Endtime Strategy
Art Katz Quote : "This has everything to do with what the Church will need to show Israel when they meet with the Jew, face to face, in the wilderness. We have to show the Jew this unconditional love of God while they are yet sinners! It is easy to love them while they are cute, fetching, and admirable. It is another thing to love them while they are in an abominable and angry condition. This is at the heart of a redemptive God. When God will have a people through whom that can be shown, then the age will have ended. Therefore, the issue is not Israel, per se, but the issue of a people who can show “God as God” under deep vexation where the natural thing to say is, “You deserve this judgment! Don’t expect any mercy from me. Shape up and I’ll think it over.” Jews expect and understand that kind of response. It is the way they would act. And so God is wanting to show them the very thing they least expect, namely, His unconditional love. But He needs a people who can show that forth. That is what God is waiting for, and that is why we have to move from our organized, programmed system of doctrinal beliefs into the actuality of the faith. Only in this place can we appropriate the very nature of God Himself. The whole conclusion of the age waits for it. Nothing is to be expected from Israel. Only that one who can love her while she is in that condition will be the instrument through whom the age is concluded."

I was blessed by a link to this fascinating documentary on the No Greater Joy website, and found the blessed testimony of the Stoltzfus family on their conversion and salvation. The documentary is informative and interesting about the Amish way of life but is saddening because of the legalism and turning away from the basic principles of Scripture in the Amish chuch, for " teaching as doctrines the commandments of men." (Matthew 15:9) They have been persecuting those who have discovered the truth, when their Anabaptist origin was one of being persecuted for their faith. I pray that many more Amish will come to know Yeshua as they can be such a glorious testimony of God to the unsaved world by the way they live.
Here is an article by No Greater Joy about their experience with Amish believers:
Plus, the No Greater Joy Ministry is giving out free downloads of Mr. Michael Pearl's preaching (2 and a half days worth) to the plain people for free to all until the end of February. I have yet to listen to them yet.
Linked is the audio testimony of the Stoltzfus family, based on Ezekiel 36:25-28, how God saved them from legalism, pretense, self-righteousness, condemnation, etc. and changed their lives. Their experience of salvation is a great testimony for the glory of YHWH. I would recommend this for you to listen. It is taken from their website, "Trouble in Amish Paradise"
Ezekiel 36:25-28 (New King James Version)
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. 28Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God.
And here is the scripture song for that passage word-for-word, written by my Mummy!

Basic Christianity
Pastor is introducing this serious of books by Watchman Nee to the church to use as basic Teaching. It will last us for a year! The theme verse of the series is
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
I've just read through the first lesson, and I plan to medidtae and chew on it through this week and next week, so I will be totally ready to learn when we begin discussion in church.
Watchman Nee's writings are very straightforward and easy-to-read, in good English and yet profound and deep. I always benefit from great Christian writings which require a better command of the English language, but this is very very good, esp for those who may not be of English background.
1 Timothy 4:7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.
There are five books in the serious and we've begun to read the first lesson this week.
The First Book is titled, "A Living Sacrifice", based on Romans 12:1 and the topic is Baptism. Baptism is a very basic, essential, and foundational part of our Christian life, because it is the birth of our new resurrection life in Christ Jesus.Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

More books! and others.
Book 1 is about ministering out of a strong Christian life, Book 2 about remaining hidden! I thoroughly recomend both, as I have read them before. Ps Jean's new book about eternal life is out too, and I have read some of it. The website has not posted it yet, but I'm sure if you want to buy it, you can find contact info on the website.
Btw, my fren Sandra's family is making Bible covers... I really like the crocheted ones... me going to try to make a knitted one for myself.

Trust in the Lord
I read this poem in Wiersbe's Bible Commentary last night. He quoted it.

Look at yourself and you'll be depressed,Look at circumstances and you'll be distressed,Look to the Lord, and you'll be blessed.
This basically means: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Prov 3:5
Warren Wiersbe's commentary was given to my father for his birthday by my grandfather. There is so much to read :)

Books I intend to read
These are books I have on hand (or at church) that Intend to read - well recommended.
This is a booklet:
Pastor has these two books, I want to read Tozer and read something from Smith Wigglesworth (Not the whole book yet!)

I have this book on the shelf not five feet away from me now, it is very short too, I shall be reading this in the near future hopefully.

This is a booklet:
Am reading this now! Just short simple sermons of Bonhoeffer has such revelation and truth, and is written in such descriptive, flowing language. It has excepts from the big books like cost of discipleship too. Some poetry too. I find that this book is easy to read and understand because of the language in which it is written. (translated from German)

Aunt Catherine borrowed Daddy and Mummy's whole Susan Tang Collection and as I've finished them anyway, when she returns it will just be the time to reread. Perfect timing. :)
Also, I haven't gotten into Ps Jeans books yet, though I shall one day. She has some free online.
